Adding RPE, tempo and intensity fields

In addition to sets, reps and rest time, you can add extra information fields to each exercise in a training plan. This is useful for advanced coaching where you want to specify intensity or movement tempo, for example.

Available extra fields

  • RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion) – lets the member indicate how hard the set was on a scale of 1–10.

  • Tempo – e.g. 3-1-2 (3 sec eccentric, 1 sec pause, 2 sec concentric).

  • Intensity – e.g. as a percentage of 1RM.

  • Note – a free-text field for instructions or cues, e.g. "keep your back straight" or "focus on the squeeze at the top".

How do you add an extra field?

  1. Open a training plan or template.

  2. Click an exercise to expand it.

  3. Click Add field or the + icon next to the exercise.

  4. Select the desired field (RPE, tempo, intensity, note).

When should you use these fields?

  • RPE – for members learning to autoregulate by feel. Useful for seeing whether someone is training too hard or too easily.

  • Tempo – for hypertrophy training where movement speed matters.

  • Note – for technical cues or specific instructions for each exercise. The member sees this directly alongside the exercise in the app.

Tip: leave the weight empty

For the weight field, it is often best to leave it empty so the member can enter what they used themselves. This automatically builds a log for each exercise and lets you see progress over time.
