Guide: Setting up the member portal

3 min read

The member portal is the online environment where members can log in, view their details, book classes and use other portal features you enable.

On this screen, you manage access, appearance and the portal's main settings.

Go to Settings > Member portal.

Want to see what the portal looks like straight away? In the top right, click Preview portal.

1. Activating and sharing the portal

Before members can use the portal, you need to enable it.

Enable member portal

  • Off: members cannot access the portal.

  • On: the portal is accessible through your fixed portal URL.

Portal access link

This is your member portal's fixed URL, for example https://jouwbedrijf.fitsociety.io. You can share this link by email, WhatsApp, social media or a button on your own website.

  • Copy: copies the portal URL to your clipboard.

  • Open portal link: opens the portal in a new tab.

Please note: the portal access link is not automatically an open registration link. Existing members can log in here. New members can only sign up themselves if registration is enabled in the portal.

2. Letting new members register themselves

Want to share a general link that lets new members sign up themselves?

  1. Go to Settings > Member portal.

  2. Turn Enable member portal on.

  3. Open Customize registration details.

  4. Turn Enable registration on.

  5. Then share the Portal access link. On the login page, the member can click Sign up .

Want to link directly to the registration form? Use the same portal URL followed by /client/registration .

If registration is disabled, you can display your own text below the login form. Set this in Customize registration details under Text below login.

3. Trial class or immediate membership through a link

Want someone to book a trial class, choose a time or become a member immediately through a link? Use a booking link instead of a general portal access link.

  1. Go to Calendar > Settings > Booking links.

  2. Click New booking link.

  3. In the booking options, choose, for example Trial class or Immediate membership.

  4. Enter the URL slug and the other settings.

  5. Copy the Public link and share it with your member or add it to your website.

A booking link usually looks like https://jouwbedrijf.fitsociety.io/b/jouw-link.

4. Setting up other portal modules

After activating the portal, you can configure the other sections:

  • Customize design: adjust the logo, colors and welcome text.

  • Customize registration details: decide whether registration is enabled and which details new members enter.

  • Navigation and visibility: decide which pages members see in the portal.

  • Booking & trial class settings: manage rules for regular classes and trial classes.

  • Member permissions: decide which actions members can perform themselves.

  • Shop & payments: manage purchases, payment settings and invoice visibility.
